Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, born in Wellington,) is the name of a Canadian actor from Canada. She was born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, and was the 2nd youngest recipient in Oscar history. Anna Paquin's full name was Anna Helene Paquin. Born on July 24, 1982, at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was a Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As a child, Paquin won an Academy Award for best support actress. Her performance as the enthusiastic and lively character Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) earned her the honor. She was cast as Flora McGrath the daughter of the mute Scottish pianist who, in the late 19th century relocates into New Zealand for an arranged wedding when she answered an open audition call; she was nine years old. She had little previous acting experience. As a teenager her family left Canada to the United States. Paquin was Jane Eyre's protagonist as a teen in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) and the main role in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin was a part-time actress in the television movie of 1997 adaptation to Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. She also played the Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She portrayed teens on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
